Nikki Sherritt is the founder of Gabriel's Aunt. She is an artisan candle maker and natural perfumer specializing in 100% natural products scented with botanical ingredients. The company was created 5 years ago after discovering the need for a new kind of candle, a natural one.

Soy wax was still relatively new and very few people were aware of the harmful effects of paraffin and fragrance oils. Nikki starting blending candles without the use of colors, synthetic fragrances or waxes using the centuries old techniques of people scenting their homes, temples, churches and bodies with flowers, resins and herbs and nothing else.

why we are unique

Our candles are made with locally grown, Non-GMO soywax. We never use Soy/Paraffin blends that are very common in the candle industry. Soy wax is a biodegradable and clean burning wax that is a wonderful medium for our botanical oils.

All blends are created as Nikki creates her perfumes; layered scents that work together to create a stronger smelling candle that will not overwhelm your senses.

All candles are hand-blended and poured in small batches making each one a special hand-crafted product. Nothing is mass produced here.

what is important to us

Gabriel's Aunt is making strides to become a completely Green company. We already recycle 98% of all our packaging and containers as well as reusing shipping materials when they are in good condition.

We encourage every customer to reuse or recycle all of our boxes and containers. We offer discounts to all of our customers who return ANY of our packaging to us. See our Recycling Incentive Page for more information.

We also reduce our impact by getting 95% of our supplies locally within the Pacific NorthWest. It is really important for our company to support local businesses and to keep our Carbon Footprint as small as possible.

We support other artisans as well by offering products we love on our website. This gives our customers more product variety and the ability to buy from smaller businesses who make natural products. When we find a product that complements ours, we want to share it with our customers. It is important to us to support our community and to bring you these amazing products.
